Flickr, vor einiger Zeit von SmugMug gekauft und tief in meinem Onlineleben verankert, hat alle Foto- und Nutzerdaten aus einem Yahoo-Rechenzentrum zu Amazon Web Services (AWS) transferiert. Das klingt vordergründig einfach, ist aber eine echte, technische Herausforderung, wie aus einem Forumspost von Don MacAskill hervorgeht.

Infrastruktur, in gewisser Weise; sowas ist immer spannend. Und Flickr überhaupt. Manchmal ist es wirklich gut, von Anfang an dabei gewesen zu sein. Und ich warte nur noch auf den Moment, an dem es seitens Flickr heißt, „we are 100% Yahoo-free“.
