EarthVPN, einer der empfohlenen VPN-Anbieter im Referenzartikel zum Thema schlechthin1, gibt an, keinerlei Protokolldateien (Logs) zu Benutzung und Aktivität seiner User anzulegen. Und dennoch wird ein User des VPN-Services durch Log-Dateien ausgeforscht.

Interessant am verlinkten Artikel ist auch der Kommentar von ~pj, der/die nicht nur den Verweis auf die Logs des Rechenzentrums für „complete, total horseshit“ hält, sondern auch – und in diesem Punkt stimme ich ihm/ihr zu – vor (a) „scammy VPN review websites“ und den darin angepriesenen (b) „me-too, technically inept, inexperienced, profit-driven, marketing-heavy“ VPN-Services warnt.
